The company vowed to take legal measures against those responsible for fabricating and circulating false reports about its operations.

He added, “NNPC Limited will not tolerate the spread of false and malicious reports aimed at undermining its reputation.

“We will take all necessary legal measures to hold accountable those responsible for fabricating and disseminating falsehoods about our operations.

“We strongly urge media organizations to uphold journalistic integrity by verifying facts before publishing misleading narratives.

“NNPC Limited remains committed to transparency and will not be swayed by attempts to manipulate public perception.”

In the video that was shared on social media, the man had stormed a shop to see his wife in a suggestive sitting position with another man, discussing.

Upon seeing them, he began to film them and tried to embarrass his wife and the man by capturing their faces on camera and making remarks of shame at them while accusing the lady of cheating.

The woman, however, stated that she has already told him that she was tired of the relationship.

He, in response insisted that she already has a son for him and they only had a minor quarrel.

The U.S. Mission to Nigeria has announced that the government will launch an investigation into past aid allocated to Nigeria and other countries.

This investigation is said to ascertain how these past aids were utilized in these countries.

Also, this investigation will ensure accountability, comprehensive monitoring, and evaluation systems have been implemented to verify that U.S. assistance reaches its intended beneficiaries.

The statement shared on the page of the US mission reads;

“Comprehensive monitoring and evaluation systems are in place to help verify that U.S. assistance reaches intended recipients. The United States condemns the violence and blatant disregard for human life perpetrated by Boko Haram and other terrorist groups in Nigeria and the region.”

“The Secretary of State designated Boko Haram a Foreign Terrorist Organization on November 14, 2013, to block the organization’s assets and fundraising efforts, prosecute individual members, and restrict their travel to the United States.  The United States continues to work with Nigeria and regional partners to counter-terrorism.

Watermelon seller shows off the fake N200 note a customer duped him with.

The video was shared on the social media platform by a netizen identified as OD Trace.

Apparently, a customer had bought melon from him and paid for it with a fake N200 which looked almost exactly like the authentic one except for one detail.

The N200 note that was given to him had Dora Explorer, the popular kids cartoon, on it.

A man was heard telling him that the cash was fake and not authentic.

An abroad-based Nigerian man reunites with his mother after a decade of separation, marking an emotional reunion.

In the clip posted by @babsandamara, the man was eager to meet his mum for the first time after being separated for 10 years. He was in tears even before she arrived.

The mother-son meeting at the airport became an emotional reunion as they both collapsed to the ground and embraced. His mother continued to sing praises and worship songs because she couldn’t let him go.

She backed him up like a toddler, demonstrating that she could hold her kid no matter how big he was, as is customary for African mothers.

She concluded by saying a prayer for her son and his companion.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has instructed all banks and financial institutions to publicly disclose details of dormant accounts, unclaimed balances, and other financial assets on their official websites.

According to CBN, a dormant account refers to a bank account that has remained inactive for at least one year.

The directive was outlined in a circular issued on Monday, titled “Guidelines on Management of Dormant Account, Accounts, Unclaimed Balances and Other Financial Assets in Banks and Other Financial Institutions in Nigeria.”

The circular was signed by Michael Akuka on behalf of the director of CBN’s financial policy and regulation department.

As part of the new regulations, financial institutions are required to display key details such as the names of individuals authorized to operate the accounts, the type of account, and the branch where it is domiciled. This information must be made available on their official websites.

For other financial institutions (OFIs) that do not have dedicated websites, CBN has mandated that the information be published on the website of their respective industry associations.

“In furtherance thereof, and in response to enquiries from stakeholders regarding the possible breach of the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 (NDPA), banks and other financial institutions are required to note the following,” CBN stated.

“1. Section 25 (b) of the NDPA permits justifiable deviations from the general principles of the Act. Also, Section 72.

“ (ii) of the Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act mandates the Central Bank of Nigeria to issue Guidelines on the administration of unclaimed funds in banks and other financial institutions.

“2. Information to be published on banks’ websites as well as the association’s website (where applicable) shall include the name of the account, the type of account, the name of the bank, and the branch where the account is domiciled ONLY.

Information to be published annually in at least two national daily newspapers or the premises of State and Unit microfinance banks, shall also convey the details as listed in (2) above.”

This directive follows an earlier order issued by CBN on July 19, 2024, requiring banks and financial institutions to transfer unclaimed balances and dormant account funds to the apex bank’s designated accounts.

 

Nigerian mother was inspired to become a TikTok content creator when her daughter shared the lucrative payment rate for TikTok videos, motivating her to explore her creative side.

In a video shared online, a lady @giftbassey2580 posted a video of her mum dancing to create video content after telling her that the video streaming platform pays its users $50 per video.

The woman showed off her creative side by doing a popular dance while wearing modest attire, similar to that of a young lady.

A man expressed outrage after his longtime childhood friend of 15 years declined his request to serve as best man at his wedding.

The video posted by @skulrebelastic filmed the man feeling betrayed and emotional. He exclaimed that his friend denied him of being a best man to the extent that he was ashamed among the groomsmen.

In the clip, a furious argument emerged among the groomsmen when the groom turned down his childhood friend because he wasn’t wealthy.

Speaking in Yoruba dialect, one of the groomsmen mentioned that he hadn’t paid for his wedding attire, yet wanted to serve as a best man.

“Because he is not wealthy, he was replaced as his best friend of 15 years’ best man. The friend claims he hasn’t even paid for the wedding gown yet, but he still wants to be best man”.

Enraged, he stormed out of the venue and refused to participate in the wedding ceremony.
