Nigerian singer Portable has pleaded with the EFCC and GTBank to release online personality VeryDarkMan, whom he described as a friend and a generous individual.

In a video shared via X (formerly Twitter), Portable acknowledged that although he and VeryDarkMan often disagree, he still wishes him well and appreciates his efforts in helping others and distributing food.

His plea follows the arrest of VeryDarkMan outside a GTBank branch shortly after leaving the premises.

While the reason for his arrest remains unclear, many online have linked it to his visit to the bank.

Portable appealed to the EFCC for mercy, saying: “Please, because of God. Please free VeryDarkMan, he is my friend. He gives people food, he helps a lot of people. I love people who help people.”

He also urged Nigerians not to boycott the bank, adding:

Don’t remove your money from GTBank.”
