Pop culture and entertainment brand, MTV Base, has pledged to support the Africa Creative Market, a gathering of industry professionals, artists, and music enthusiasts, with its βMusic Dayβ.
MTV Base noted in a release that it would bring its Music Day to the ACM, which would be held on Friday in Lagos.
It also said it would hold panel discussions and activities focusing on advancing African musicβs global reach, as part of its sponsorship of the ACM.
The entertainment brand stated that the panel discussions would feature topics discussing strategies for pushing African artists to the international stage, innovative music production techniques, and navigating the rapidly evolving music industry.
According to MTV Base, one of the panel discussions entitled: βBeyond Borders: Building Global Audiences for African Musicβ will feature experts who will share strategies to help African artists break through international barriers.
βPanelists will offer invaluable insights on leveraging social media, forming strategic global partnerships, and utilising digital platforms to elevate African music worldwide,β the firm added.
It remarked that a second panel on βThe Art of Sampling: How It Works and When Does It Become Theft?β would discuss music sampling and explore its legal and creative aspects while addressing the fine line between musical inspiration and copyright infringement.
Senior Channels Manager at Paramount Africa, Busola Komolafe, said MTV Base was committed to shaping the future of African music through insightful dialogue and strategic expertise, especially through the ACM.
