  • Joshua eyes potential fight with Hrgovic or Dubois for IBF heavyweight world title

Joshua eyes potential fight with Hrgovic or Dubois for IBF heavyweight world title

Boxer, Anthony Joshua finds himself in a position to potentially vie for the IBF heavyweight world title against either Filip Hrgovic or Daniel Dubois.

Reports indicate that Croatian contender and the IBF mandatory challenger Hrgovic, is poised to risk his position by taking on young British prospect Dubois in Saudi Arabia on June 1.

For Joshua, the clash between Hrgovic and Dubois holds significant implications, as the winner could potentially become his opponent for a vacant heavyweight world title.

Having earned his mandatory challenger status by defeating Zhang in 2022, Hrgovic has patiently awaited his shot at the title.

However, the likelihood of the IBF belt becoming vacant opens the door for Joshua to enter the fray as the next highest available contender.

Yet, Dubois presents a formidable challenge and has the opportunity to disrupt the narrative by defeating Hrgovic.

In such scenario, the IBF could order a showdown between Joshua and Dubois for the vacant heavyweight world title.

Gareth Southgate’s men struggled to create clear chances throughout the encounter, even though boasting one of the best squads in Europe.

Brazil on the other hand, had a fair game, with Lucas Paqueta hitting the post, after a poor defending from their opponents.

Endrick could have also doubled his tally at stoppage time, but missed a close range effort, to end the match 1-0.

Meanwhile, no trial date has been set yet for Mmobuosi, who has reportedly vanished from his lavish London home since January, following fraud charges filed against him by US authorities after an FBI investigation.

Mmobuosi, 45, had previously expressed interest in investing in other Premier League clubs, including Crystal Palace and Southampton, and was once seen as a potential saviour for Sheffield United with his proposed £115 million takeover bid.

While reports reveal he had reached agreements with Sheffield’s owner, Prince Abdullah, and claimed to have paid a deposit, the English Football League (EFL) sought further clarification from him and the club, leading to the breakdown of negotiations between the Prince and the Nigerian businessman.

Wizkid: How I feel when people underestimate me

Famous Afrobeats singer,Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun a.k.a Wizkid opens up on how he feels when people underestimate his potential.

The ‘Joro’ hitmaker made this statement during a recent Instagram live interview when he was asked how he manages mounting pressures to prove himself in his music.

According to Wizkid, the underestimation he receives from others is what drives him most to pursue his desires.

    He said:

“I love it when people underestimate me, it fuels me more than anything else in the world.”

However, the superstar singer also mentioned in a previous interview from years ago that he enjoys proving himself to those who have reservations about his ability.

    Wizkid state;

“Some of the tough lessons that have shaped me to be the entrepreneur I am today is never to take (no) for an answer. When I started, I was probably the youngest person making music in Nigeria. And everywhere I went, I was the youngest person in the room.

I learnt not to accept ‘no’ for an answer and that has helped shape me into the man I am now. When I think about anything, I go for it. Of course, I have mentors such as Mr Tony Elemelu (Big Daddy), and I think everybody knows that.

Some of the business tips I learnt is to be open-minded and I always keep my ears to the ground because one does not know where a good business idea could come from. I also try to take my time before I make decisions. I have learnt to be diligent with my work, thanks to the people I look up to.

On the issue of being under constant pressure to prove myself, I’ll say that it actually fuels me more than anything in the world because I love it when people underestimate me. I just show you that I can do it. There is not much story behind my success, other than the fact that I personally decided that I wanted to be excellent.

I made up my mind to be an amazing artiste. Secondly, I don’t joke with my craft. I try as much as possible to always elevate my music, sound and business. I guess if one stays amazing towards one’s work, the world would steadily gravitate towards one. It is just hard work and persistency that has helped my music.”

Female pastor school women on submission: “Your salary should be given to your husband”

Female pastor, Mrs Francisca Emmanuel, tells women that it is right for them to give their salary to their husbands as proof of their submission to his authority.

The First Lady of World Redemption ministry shared a snippet of her discussion with another church member to her Instagram page.

In what appeared to be an informal interview, she asked her member whose name should be on a car when it is bought with her money.

The church member replied saying that her name should be in the car and not her husband as it was her finances being used for the purchase.

Mrs Francis was obviously disappointed by her response, stating that she did not understand submission.

She claimed many women do not understand the true meaning of total submission and to properly submit, many things should be surrendered to the command of the husband.

Listing some of those things, she said the wife’s house, car, and even salary should be given to the man to take total control over.
