Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has revealed why he failed to name Jadon Sancho in his squad to face Fulham in the Premier League curtain raiser.

Sancho was left out of the squad completely, similar of when he was dropped for the match with Arsenal last season, leading to a public row with Ten Hag, which led to him being exiled from the team and later joining Borussia Dortmund on loan.

However, speaking after the 1-0 win at Old Trafford, Ten Hag claimed the forward has a ear infection.

In his words:

“First of all we need squad depth, There will be a long season and it will be survival of the fittest but I can only put 20 players in the squad and Jadon in the week had an ear infection. He was not 100 percent fit.”
