In a solemn display of respect, the Super Eagles players observed a moment of silence on Thursday night, February 9.

The tribute was dedicated to the four Nigerians who tragically lost their lives during the team’s match against South Africa on Wednesday, February 7.

The heartbreaking incident unfolded as Nigerian fans around the world tuned in to witness the intense semi-finals of the ongoing AFCON tournament.

Among the deceased were notable individuals, including an APC chieftain, Cairo Ojougboh, an Ivory Coast-based Nigerian businessman, a dedicated serving member of the NYSC, and the Deputy Bursar of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Alhaji Ayuba Abdullahi.

Gathering together, the Super Eagles players stood in silence, honoring the memory of those who had passed away.

 

Following the minute of silence, the players offered prayers for the departed souls prayed for divine comfort for their grieving families.
