The German has less than six months on his contract with the Cityzens and has not spoken about the possibility of signing a new contract. The Telegraph confirmed that Barcelona were interested in signing N’Golo Kante from Chelsea but reports from Stamford Bridge has it that the French midfielder might renew his contract with the Blues.
Gundogan was named captain of Manchester City after Fernandinho left the Cityzens at the end of the 2021/22 season. The Premier League champions could still yet to decide to offer Gundogan a new contract to keep him at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City are looking to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund as a possible replacement for Gundogan.
