Christian Eriksen, midfielder for Manchester United, has voiced his discontent with his recent experiences at the club.

Over the past few months, the Danish international has encountered difficulties in securing playing time, particularly under Erik ten Hag’s management. This season, he has only started nine league games.

Eriksen, aged 32, has found himself lower in the pecking order at United, largely due to the emergence of academy talent Kobbie Mainoo.

Eriksen confirmed in an interview with a Danish website, he expressed how he felt to Ten Hag but the situation started but the Dutchman made him realise that there is competition for space because the whole midfield is performing well.

“I have had a talk with Erik about being unhappy with the situation and wanting to play as much as possible. He said Kobbie Mainoo is doing well, and the rest of the midfield is also performing well, so there is competition for places.
Of course, you can be concerned in the long run because I want to play as much as possible. You don’t want to always sit on the bench.”

Eriksen has played just two games since the beginning of this year (2024) and will be looking to get more game time, if he wants to play in the Euros which will be hosted in Germany.
