The Dutchman was speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Manchester City at Old Trafford on Saturday, January 14th, 2023. According to Ten Hag, Van de Beek will miss the rest of the 2022/23 season.

The Dutchman suffered a knee injury during the Premier League game against Bournemouth earlier in January. Ten Hag confirmed that time would be needed to learn the full extent of the injury.

I think it is quite positive news. Of course, the bad news is he is out for the rest of the season, but the good news is, in the long term, his knee will be okay and he will be ready again to play at the highest levels and will be ready for the start of pre-season.

However, he confirmed that his fellow countryman should be available for the 2023/24 pre-season.
