There is a bit of good news for Chelsea supporters as they count down to their crunch tie against Liverpool at Anfield.
The Blues have lost just one in their last seven games across all competitions which is a good form they need as they face the league leaders. Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino gave an update on his team news during his pre-match press conference which was held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
“It is good news that I think Malo Gusto and Christoph [Nkunku] can be involved in the squad for tomorrow,’ he said. ‘They will travel with us and the team, that is the good news. Always, we are waiting for the last moment in case there is some surprise, but it is good news to have two players recovered to play.”
He also spoke about the possibility of having Nicolas Jackson back in time for the game. The Senegalese international was part of the squad that was recently knocked out of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
“Then, maybe or not, Nico can arrive for tomorrow and also be involved in the game. But that is if he can arrive in time from the tournament.”
Chelsea will be looking to end Liverpool’s unbeaten run at Anfield when they play the Reds tomorrow, Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
