A Nigerian man shares his frustration after receiving a shocking hospital bill of N1.2 million for the birth of his baby via cesarean section (CS).
In a detailed post, @IamEkene_ on X (formerly Twitter) recounted the unexpected financial strain, describing the experience as both joyous and exploitative.
Ekene explained that during antenatal visits, the hospital informed him the cost of a CS procedure would be ₦200,000, with no hidden fees unless complications arose.
He also budgeted ₦500,000 for additional expenses, such as private room charges, which were quoted at ₦20,000 per night. However, the reality turned out differently.
“E reach my time to be person papa, CS come cost me ₦1.2m. Lol. This life no get format,” he wrote, sharing a breakdown of the charges for consultations, tests, and post-surgery care.
